our story.

Established in 1991 by chief pilot and instructor, Imre Mészáros with the intention of training future successful – and safe! – pilots in a nurturing environment, where deep, intricate knowledge is passed on by experienced aviators caring about their students way beyond their paychecks. Although Hungary’s oldest aviation training organisation, Mészi Air Service is continuously expanding, improving its facilities and offers.

We are proud to have our team consisting of multi-thousand hour commercial pilots, captains and rising stars. Many in our lineage choose to return to the school to pass on their knowledge and experience to those passionate about flying.

We also put strong emphasis on our fleet maintainance. Quality is never compromised – aside from our passion for safety, our mechanic has been with us since 1992, and his daughter is also flying these planes.

We are well versed in all the requirements posed on pilots in the industry. We also believe in a more familiar attitude towards our students and welcome all enthusiastic, diligent and friendly pilots with open arms.

So if you want to learn from the best, become a safe pilot and like cookies and coffee, you are at the right place 🙂

instructors.

Meet the experts that will give you your wings back, bringing you closer to your dream job, or just teach you a few tricks that will give just that edge you’ve been missing in your flying skills.

I started flying when I was 16. I was lucky enough to gain experience in several areas of aviation, from gliders to aerobatics to being captain of an airliner. I founded Mészi Air Service Kft. in 1991, where I still participate in pilot training as chief pilot and Chief Flight instructor.

A Mészi Air alumni myself, I’ve been flying as a commercial pilot since 2017. I am a first officer on the Airbus 320/321 type, based in Budapest. Beside my native Hungarian language, I also speak English and Italian. I also have a Masters degree in Economics. A former water polo player I love swimming, also running. In my free time I read, listen to music.

I began flying at the age of 30 after having graduated as an engineer. Arriving with a PPL in hand, I completed my training at Mészi Air, all the way to an major airline where I still work to this day. I spend my free time as a general aviation and simulator instructor.

I started my career in aviation in 1993 as a glider pilot and gained admission to Nyíregyháza Flight Academy in 1997.

I have accumulated nearly 15000 hours. Most recently operated as an airline captain and now employed by the Hungarian Air Force in the ranks of Captain, A319. In addition to light aircraft IR and NVFR, I am also an A320 TRI and instruct MCCI (A).

At 16 I began my training as a glider pilot, 8 years later I became an instructor and went on to train to be an aerobatics pilot for gliders. Between 2001-2010 I flew as a member of the Hungarian National Aerobatic Glider Team and participated in many European and world championships.

In 5 years I was done with IR/CPL/ME at Mészi Air Service and ready to become an instructor for piston engine aircrafts as well.

Today I am working as a cargo pilot on the B737-400.

I began flying in 1993 on gliders. 6 years later obtained a PPL then moved on to the other ratings right up to CPL. I also have licenses for formation and acrobatic flying.  In 2006 I became a CFI, instructing first in Miskolc, then at Mészi Air from 2008.

I have amassed 4300 hours of flight time (out of which 300 is on gliders) and I have also been a examiner since 2021. My favourite pastime is restorating veteran automobiles.

I started flying in 1984, Imre Mészáros was my first instructor. Friendship and joint work have connected us ever since. I flew with Malév on Fokker 70, CRJ 200, Boeing 767, Q400, and became a captain here. Later, I flew for Wizz Air on the A320 family. I am still working as a captain on Airbus types. In my free time, I restore old machines.

I’ve been flying since 2005. I learned the basics on a glider, which has helped me a lot on my journey ever since.

Later, I fell in love with flying powered airplanes at Mészi Air Service, where I was able to build on the previous foundations. It is here I obtained my licenses all the way to becoming a CFI.

I am currently working hard on becoming an airline pilot –  until then I’m trying  to best pass on my knowledge to my students.

I have been attracted to the world of aviation since I was a child, in which I first – and often since then – worked as a mechanic.

I obtained my PPL in 2015, after that I came to Jakabszállás, where I obtained all additional licenses, and where I try to pass on my acquired knowledge to future aviators.

In addition, I deal with air patient transport.
